I have decided not to beat around the bush this year I am writing to ask
you for money I realize that I could lead up to it gently, but this money
is needed to help find a cure for diabetes - a disease that affects 21
million children and adults in this country alone
On enter date , I will be running the _____________ marathon I plan
to train for four months and run more than 300 miles, in preparation for
the 262-mile marathon In support of my efforts, I am asking you to make a

I have come to know as the best hope for a cure
Briefly, the DRI at the University of Miami is the most comprehensive
diabetes research facility of its kind, dedicated exclusively to
curing diabetes through islet cell transplantation and other cellular
therapies Islet transplantation is regarded as the most promising
method to cure this disease In fact, a number of patients who lived
most of their lives with diabetes are now insulin-free as a result of
the Institutes ongoing clinical trials A few challenges remain
before this procedure can benefit all people living with this disease
