series Baptist Health affiliated-physicians will be discussing a variety

Wonderfully Made - Womens Health Seminars
Wonderfully Made, a new Baptist Health program will explore the physical,
mental and spiritual aspects of womens health Sometimes women, busy with
day-to-day activities, dont take time for their health This monthly
program will provide women of all ages with straightforward information
about current health topics, as well as what it takes to maintain a healthy

CENTER FOR DIABETES AND NUTRITION EDUCATION
The Baptist Health Center for Diabetes and Nutrition Education offers a
number of classes to help improve nutrition and monitor diabetes Classes
are taught by a registered nurse or dietitian To register for one of the

Pre-Diabetes Can I prevent type 2 diabetes? - This 1-1/2 hour class
focuses on the risk factors of developing type 2 diabetes and what can be
done to delay or prevent the disease The focus will be on the positive
effects of regular activity and weight loss Practical ways to get moving
and to decrease extra calories will be discussed Participants will be
encouraged to set personal goals and will be given the option to weigh in
at the center to monitor their progress Cost: 30

Healthy Eating for a Healthy Heart - This one-hour class covers nutrition
guidelines aimed at

High Blood Pressure - This one-hour class will cover current guidelines for

for weight loss We will cover recommended calorie intakes, exercise

Sibling Preparation - Expectant big brothers and sisters will learn about
the arrival of their new baby through an introduction to the hospital

Prenatal Breastfeeding - This class provides expectant mothers with
information about breastfeeding Partners are welcome to participate This
class is from 6:30-8:30 pm Oct 8 in the Baptist Breast Health Center

Infant Safety/CPR - This class is designed to help parents create a safe
environment for their child Child proofing methods are discussed Care of
the choking infant, infant rescue breathing and infant CPR are skills

Baptist Health is now offering Baby Boot Camp, an abbreviated version of

classes Classes are hosted at the Prattville Medical Park and are from 9
am to 3:30 pm The cost of the class is 45 Baptist Health employees
and members of the military receive a 25 percent discount
