Can Do
Overweight children and adolescents are more likely to become overweight
adults To reduce the prevalence of overweight children across the nation,
we must integrate research, education, and innovative approaches to help
children achieve healthy weights Strategies include: helping to provide
high quality, science-based education that increases knowledge, improves
attitudes, and builds skills directed at reducing the prevalence of
overweight children; and organizing coalitions and networks to create
environments that support enjoyable, healthful eating, physical activity,
and a positive self-image This process allows groups to come together to
decide which program will work best in their community
